VINCENT De PAUL NEWS A special thanks to the parishioners at St. Thomas More who have generously given towards the ministry of St. Vincent De Paul in our Thanksgiving Day collection. Your generosity reached $5,043. HELP THE POOR & DISABLED When a call comes into the Church office for help in finding housing or someone is in need of food etc. it is turned over to our St. Vincent De Paul Conference to handle. In each case two members go to the home and interview the client(s). When there is no home, we interview them at Church. We seldom turn anyone away. Often it’s help with housing, food, or with medical bills or transportation. At other times it’s legal, financial or spiritual advice. Sometimes it is just for someone to talk to. We work with other “help” groups, the County or other companies. When we can be of help, it’s the most satisfying feeling for those of us who do the work. Some of us have been doing this for many years but others are new. It is easier for those retired to be a St. Vincent De Paul volunteer because most of the calls are in the daytime, but we welcome everyone. I promise you that if you join in this work you will never regret it. We meet the second Monday of the month at the Parish Life Center at 2:00 pm. You are more than welcome to attend and be part of this rewarding ministry at St. Thomas More Church.
